Beat Down Your Debt With Your Extra Earnings

When it comes to living within your means, there are two rules in the personal finance world, you can either control your spending habits to keep your earnings greater than your expenses or find new ways to earn more than what you spend.
Like most of the people, I also place my trust in the fact that life is meant to be enjoyed and frugality will only take you this far. For as much as you can try to cut your way back on your everyday expenditure, you still have to eat, live in a home, go to work and buy other essentials, and you will ultimately reach a to a point where you are unable to make more cuts because you are swimming on the edge of your budget.
Alternatively, if you decide to move into the other direction and earn $100 more, rather than shedding the same amount from your expenses, you can sustain your same lifestyle and still have an extra $100 to achieve debt relief.
The actual question is that how many magazine subscriptions or costly coffee cups will you be able to get rid of so that you can save some money to throw at your debt every month? So work a couple of hours each week and earn those extra 100 bucks instead.
Let’s take a quick look at a few ideas.
Make more at your existing job

Plan for an extra shift - If you work on the shift basis, try to opt for a weekly extra shift. If possible, go for the one that pays just as a night shift or a weekend shift does. You are at an advantage here, as the company will consider you for the shift since you are trained than a temp who consumes both valuable time and effort to learn everything from the beginning.
See if you get a promotion – If you haven’t had a raise in a while, then you can ask your supervisor or manager to evaluate your work. Enable him/her to see the additional value you have brought since last time and why you deserve to earn more or move up the hierarchy.
Volunteer for an assignment – This can be somehow a gamble for you. If your boss needs people to work on a project, volunteer and accept the extra work, show commitment, and perform the task to the best of your skills. A successful project means your boss probably offer you either a raise or a bonus.
Start a home-based business

There are numerous businesses that you can start at your home today. Some of these need no money down or have small starting costs. Here are a few examples:
Tutoring – This can be a good option to earn some extra cash. You need to find kids who are struggling in their studies and offer tutoring services to them. You can work in this out in the evenings and weekends.
Babysitting – Basic skills are required, as you have to take care of kids. You can ask your neighbors or your near&dear ones to drop their kids at your house. You’ll be earning and saving money at the same time as no commute is required in both the cases.
Selling stuff online – You don’t have to be internet-savvy for this. If you make your own crafts, you can create a shop online under different online shopping platforms and start selling things for a decent profit.
Freelancing - If you are into writing, a lot of people are searching for copywriters or staff writers, etc. and you can get clients online, where you can develop a clientele to fetch easy money for quick tasks.
If you are trying to beat your debt now, then one of these ideas can prove to be an ideal solution for you. It all adds up to a big change in your financial situation if you have the discipline to put down all that extra money for your debt.
